hello lake lovers:
lake words is a queer abolitionist love letter to great salt lake – a handmade chapbook of poetry and prose. now is the time for the next chapter in the project: we are accepting submissions for lake words vol. ii.
this publication will be a platform for generative and critical creative work about great salt lake. lake words is a balm for the often misleading and incomplete mainstream narratives published about great salt lake. this project isn’t throttled by maintaining politeness and upholding the status quo to appease funders. this is your opportunity to tell it like it is – for queers, abolitionists, anti-capitalists, lake-lovers, young people, and fed-up scientists to share our stories. rage, love, and grief are welcome here.
we are accepting:
– short essays
-visual art
– poetry
– maps and diagrams
– visionary fiction
– genre-bending work
time-based digital media is welcome, but will only be published on lakewords.com rather than in the printed zine.
applicants will be compensated $35 per piece accepted into the printed zine.
submissions are due april 1st.
find out more submission details at lakewords.com/submit !
we look forward to seeing your submissions! if you have any questions, please email lakewords@proton.me.
